The historical part of Zagreb is divided into the Upper and Lower Town. Upper Town is the old, medieval core of the city and Lower Town is devoted to business, museums, art and green spacious parks.

Zagreb’s Upper and Lower Town

Take some time to admire the beautiful neoclassical buildings of the Lower Town which are from the end of the XIX. century and will make you remember the romantic times of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The most of the tourist points of the Lower Town are located in the Green Horseshoe, the U-shaped system of city squares and parks with relaxing atmosphere.

We will start our tour visiting the Upper Town: Zagreb Cathedral, Dolac Market, colourful Tkalčićeva Street with its charming cafes and restaurants, Stone Gate, Zagreb's oldest pharmacy, St.Mark's Square with beautiful St.Mark's Church, Croatian Government and Parliament, Museum of Broken Relationships, St. Catherine's Church, Lotrščak Tower and charming Strossmayer Promenade. Our Funicular (also called "Old Lady") will take you to experience the shortest ride in the world.

After visiting the Main Square of Zagreb (Jelačić Square) we will take a tram and start the second part of the tour discovering the Lower Town. We will visit Zrinjevac, Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, King's Tomislav Square, Art Pavilion, Botanical Garden, Croatian National Theatre, Croatian State Archives, Mimara Museum, Musical Academy and University of Zagreb.
